Getting Started
How long does it take to set up a server?
A few minutes. After checkout, your server is automatically provisioned and ready to play. You'll get the connection address in your dashboard as soon as it's ready.
Do I need technical knowledge to use kranky.io?
Not at all. Our dashboard handles everything — starting/stopping your server, installing mods, editing config files, and managing players. No command line or Linux experience needed.
Which games do you support?
We currently support Minecraft: Java Edition, Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, Palworld, Valheim, ARK: Survival Evolved, and Terraria. More games are coming soon.
Can I switch games after purchasing?
Not on the same server — each server is configured for a specific game. But you can cancel your current plan and start a new one for a different game anytime. No contracts or penalties.
Pricing & Billing
How does pricing work?
Plans are based on RAM, which is the main factor in game server performance. More RAM means more players, more mods, and smoother gameplay. You choose monthly, quarterly (17% off), or annual (25% off) billing.
Is there a free trial?
We offer a 72-hour money-back guarantee on all plans. Try it out — if you’re not happy for any reason, we’ll refund you in full, no questions asked.
Are there any hidden fees?
None. The price you see is the price you pay. One-click backups, full console access, and file management are all included in every plan.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes, anytime. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades apply at the next billing cycle so you keep your current resources until then.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) through Stripe. Your card information is never stored on our servers.

Server Management
How do I access my server console?
Log in to your dashboard, click your server, and you’ll see a live console where you can type commands directly. It works just like a local server console.
Can I install mods and plugins?
Yes. For Minecraft, browse and install plugins from Modrinth directly in your dashboard. For other games, manage mods through the file manager. You can also edit configuration files directly in the browser.
Can I upload an existing world/save?
World upload support is coming soon. You can manage and edit existing server files through the dashboard file manager.
How do I whitelist players?
Go to your server’s Players page in the dashboard. You can add or remove players from the whitelist with one click. For Minecraft, you can also use the /whitelist command in the console.
Are servers online 24/7?
Standard plans auto-stop after 5 minutes with no players to save resources — just start from your dashboard when ready. Higher-tier plans can stay on 24/7.
How do backups work?
Your server data is stored on persistent storage that survives restarts. Create backups with one click from your dashboard.
Technical
What hardware do your servers run on?
We run on AWS infrastructure with SSD storage, dedicated RAM, and modern processors. Every game server runs on its own isolated instance.
Is my server secure?
Yes. Every server is firewalled with AWS security groups so only your game port is exposed. Connections to the dashboard are encrypted.
Where are your servers located?
Currently in US East (Virginia). We’re adding US West and EU regions soon. Players in North America and Europe typically get 20-80ms ping.
What happens if my server crashes?
Your game server automatically restarts if the process crashes thanks to container restart policies. You can also restart manually from your dashboard.
Can I connect via FTP/SFTP?
You can manage files through our web-based file manager. SFTP access is on our roadmap for a future update.
Account & Support
How do I get help if something goes wrong?
Open a support ticket from your dashboard, or email us at meow@kranky.io. We typically respond within a few hours during business days.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your billing page — no contracts, no cancellation fees, no hoops to jump through. Your server stays active until the end of your current billing period.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
If you need to reset your password, email us at meow@kranky.io and we'll help you. If you signed up with Google, Discord, or GitHub, just click the same provider button to log in — no password needed.
Can I share server access with friends?
Yes! You can invite other users to co-manage your server from the Settings page. Choose from three roles: Admin (full control except billing), Operator (start/stop and console), or Viewer (read-only logs). Each person needs a kranky.io account.
